Good Friday is the day of death, and Easter Sunday is the day of light. Of course death and light are completely intimate, completely one.
In the early gnostic Christian traditions, Easter Sunday is the day of self- liberation. Self- liberation is the experience of the embodiment of the light, the Lumen Christos. Christos is the primordial archetypal light of the world. Jesus declares “I am the light of the world.” The world is light, the Universe is light. Embodied light. Flesh as light! Jesus is not illuminating the world, like a flashlight. Jesus is the Light of the World. The world is the light.
For the Gnostics as well as for Dzogchen there is the experience of gnosis, direct knowingness, jnana. There is the direct experience of light, trans-lucidity, trans- lucidity within one’s own being, within one’s own embodiment and within the embodied being of all phenomena. All forms, all actions, all experience are forms of light. To experience gnosis, direct knowingness is to experience our own embodiment of awareness as the light. Becoming the light! Aham ah. I am becoming who I am.
The singular praxis of becoming aware of awareness, frees awareness, and opens our experience to the realms of awareness. The realm of awareness is the realm of light, the realm of trans-lucidity. Our personal awareness is light. Our personal awareness is primordial luminosity as who, as who-ness. Who-ness is the light. In the great Hindu Tantra’s the Purusha is primordial who-ness as light.
Of course to experience nature, to experience nature through our own nature is to experience self- liberation as light. As we experience the light of awareness we experience Vajra Kumara, the unborn and undying quality of luminous awareness. Deathless awareness is the experience of deathless light. Deathless awareness is the on- going continuity of light. Deathless awareness is the unborn and undying quality of primordial luminosity. Our primordial nature is light.
When death happens, there is the opening of deathless awareness for everyone, both for the person who is dying, who is leaving this dimension of embodied flesh, this Nirmanakaya dimension. There is also a profound opening of deathless awareness for all those who are intimately connected through love to the person who is dying, connected to the person who is leaving this dimension of Beingness and entering into the most subtle and most pure states of luminous Beingness itself. The dying person is continuously intimately and non- dualistically connected to those they love within the Sambogakaya realm, which is the archetypal dimension of Being; as well as the Dharmakaya realm which is the dimension of pure potentiality of Being, the potentiality of infinity.
This opening of deathless awareness, luminous awareness is of great benefit for all those who are connected through love to the person who is dying. This opening is beyond the mind and conceptual thinking, it is beyond the relational narrative, it is within the depth of our innermost awareness that this vast openness takes place, bringing forth and reopening the doors to self- liberation within the light of deathless awareness.
All love is the experience of the light, the indivisibility of luminousness. The light is not simply white, or blue or green or red or black. The light has no color. All love is the experience of the indivisibility of the light. All love all human love is direct experience of luminosity through the singularity of love; the singularity of what is and who is. All whos are light, both the good, the bad and the indifferent. In a true kiss, the light as flesh is meeting the flesh as the light.
The problem with psychology or with psychologizing everything and everyone, is psychology can veil the actuality of the light. The same is especially true with moralization of everything and everyone as moralization easily veils the actuality of the light. Religion with its unending theocratic preoccupation relentlessly veils the actuality of the light. The light is not a belief, belief in the light is not the direct experience of light. Belief is conceptual. The light is non conceptual experience. The light is a thought free event. The light is known through awareness and not the mind alone. The light is non dual experience through and within duality.
In truth equal vision, equality consciousness only happens when there is the innate sense, innate experience of the light within everyone and everything. Equality consciousness is the sense of light in everything and everyone. Equality consciousness is self-liberation through direct knowing, luminous knowing. Equality consciousness is perceptual and relational. Equality consciousness is a foundational mode of knowing, a relational mode of knowing inside to inside. Equality consciousness is a way of Being in the Being of the world. Equality consciousness is self- liberation.
